Malaysia condemns Israel's aggression towards Palestinians in Great Return March

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia condemns in the strongest terms Israel’s aggression towards the Palestinians involved in the peaceful Great Return March, which was held on March 30.

The Foreign Ministry said excessive force by Israel was totally uncalled for and unacceptable.

"Malaysia therefore calls upon the international community to act swiftly and decisively to avoid further loss of Palestinian lives," it said in a statement today.

At least 15 Palestinian civilians were killed, some of them by the use of live ammunition by the Israeli security forces.

More than 1,000 others were reportedly injured, including from tear gas suffocation.

The protest campaign was reportedly calls for the Palestinians for a “right of return” to what is now Israel.

It was reported that a large majority of Gaza’s two million people were Palestinian descendants who had fled or were driven off from their homes in the 1948 Mideast war over Israel’s creation.
