BN monitoring every constituency for sabotage elements against coalition and candidates - Tengku Adnan

PUTRAJAYA: Barisan Nasional (BN) is monitoring every constituency for any sabotage elements against the coalition and candidates contesting in the 14th general election (GE14).

BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said it already placed `inspectors’ nationwide to detect any sign of “attack” and action would be taken against those involved.

“Don’t be too emotional. I know because we are monitoring things on the ground as what is happening in Wangsa Maju.

“We are taking stock of things and perhaps the (FT) Umno liaison may have to take over the election machinery in Wangsa Maju following rumours of possible sabotage on MCA candidate,” he said after handing over the PutraPay card to school children with disabilities and the old folks.

With the card, these target groups can take a free ride on the NadiPutra bus for a year.

Tengku Adnan said he had met MCA following rumours of possible atempts to sabotage Umno candidate vying for the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat and would take the necessary action to resolve it.

“I have written a letter to the BN components three weeks ago about not wanting anyone to sabotage candidates from any of party components. If they fail to comply, I will take action,” he said.

Tengku Adnan also urged all BN members including Umno to hold true to the wala’ (loyalty) as well as tabayyun (seeking the truth) by supporting party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s decisions, which would include not contesting as independent candidates as their Umno membership would be revoked automatically.

“For Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi, we just heard (he wants to contest as an independent candidate), but if it is true, he will be sacked from Umno automatically,” he said in response to rumours that Puad planned to contest on an independent ticket.

Asked if last-minute changes would be made to BN candidates, Tengku Adnan said it would not happen.
