Veteran singer Daud Kilau faints after performance

BAGAN DATUK: Veteran singer Datuk Mohd Daud Kilau, 78, better known as M Daud Kilau, has been admitted to the Teluk Intan Hospital after he fainted following a performance here last Monday.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is contesting the Bagan Datuk parliamentary seat, disclosed this today at a youth and community programme at the Immigration Department at the Bagan Datuk Waterfront.

He said he visited the singer, popularly known as ‘Raja Gelek Malaysia’, at the hospital last night.

“Three nights ago, he had performed here (at the Bagan Datuk Waterfront). He fainted following the performance. Let’s pray for his speedy recovery,” he said.

Immigration director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali was present at today’s event which also included special guests, badminton great Datuk Lee Chong Wei and singer Datuk Shake or Sheikh Abdullah Ahmad.—BERNAMA
