Mohamad Onn appointed EAIC's new CEO, secretary

PUTRAJAYA: Mohamad Onn Abd Aziz has been appointed the new chief executive officer and secretary of the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC), effective Wednesday, May 2.

Mohamad Onn was previously the senior federal counsel in the Advisory Division of the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC).

“He has also served with the Business Support and Legal Services of the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Authority Management; the Higher Education Ministry; and the Transport Ministry,” the EAIC said in a statement today, adding that Mohamad Onn’s appointment is in line with Section 13 (1) of the EAIC Act 2009 (Act 700).

The commission said that Mohamad Onn is on secondment for a period of two years, replacing Ahmad Razif Mohd Sidek, who returned to the AGC on March 1.

According to its website, the EAIC is tasked with strengthening the government’s service delivery system among Malaysia’s enforcement agencies by managing complaints and conducting investigations in a transparent, bold, dutiful and professional manner.

The EAIC is a federal statutory body established by an Act of Parliament, under Section 3 of the EAIC Act 2009, which was gazetted on Sept 3, 2009.
