1MDB investigation committee scrutinises terms and conditions

KUALA LUMPUR: The newly-formed 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) investigation committee is in the midst of scrutinising terms and conditions of its tasks.

Committee chairman, Tan Sri Abu Talib Othman, said it had to early to elaborate on its status since it was just been established on Friday.

“Give it some time and wait (for details),” he said when contacted today.

The Council of Eminent Persons had on Friday set up the committee to investigate matters relating to 1MDB.

The other committee members are PwC Risk Assurance Services partner, Nik Shahrizal Sulaiman; Naqiz & Partners’ senior partner, Syed Naqiz Shahabuddin Syed Abdul Jabbar; Financial Services Authority Indonesia senior adviser, Faris Rabidin and Centre to Combat Corruption and Cronyism founder, Cynthia Gabriel.

It was reported that former finance minister, Tun Daim Zainuddin, who led the Council of Eminent Persons, said the team would submit a report on cases involving 1MDB that would then be handed to the government for further actions.
