Ramadan bazaar scandal, another report lodged [NSTTV]

PUTRAJAYA: Another report on the abuse of power and the misappropriation of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall's (DBKL) Ramadan Bazaar was handed over to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman had also sent a similar report on the scandal to the MACC yesterday.

PPBM's Superior Council Member, who is also the Head of Integrity Bureau, Anti-Corruption & Misuse of Unite Youth, Dr Muhammad Faiz Na'aman together with the youth representatives of the national PPPBM, was present at MACC's headquarters to submit a report on the scandal.

Dr Muhammad Faiz said the report was important to complete the investigation into the case and find the real mastermind behind the scandal.

According to him, the party admits that the scandal has affected the reputation of PPBM and the party will not compromise on any party member involved in the case.

"We take a serious view of any member who use their political position to apply for a business tender done on the basis of personal or personal interests.

"We hope the authorities, including the police and the MACC can find the real mastermind behind the case. Disciplinary action will be taken if our members are involved in the scandal, "he said when met outside the MACC building here.

He said a disciplinary report had been submitted by Bukit Bintang's PPBM division on the scandal.

Dr Muhammad Faiz said that his party was also conducting internal investigations at the party level but actual investigation is still being carried out by the police and the MACC.

The media earlier reported allegations of abuse and malpractices at 80 bazaars at Jalan Masjid India involving Bukit Bintang PPBM Youth chief Mohd Noorhisyam Abdul Karim.

The site of the bazaar was subsequently marked up and leased up to RM5,000 for one lot and is estimated to earn a total profit of about RM400,000.
