Wan Saiful is new PTPTN chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) today announced the appointment of Wan Saiful Wan Jan as its new chairman.

The two-year appointment came into effect June 18.

Formerly the chief executive officer of the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS), Wan Saiful takes over the role of PTPTN chairman from Datuk Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.

In a statement today, the education fund said they welcomed Wan Saiful to drive PTPTN to greater heights.

A member of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), Wan Saiful contested in the previous 14th General Election (GE14) for the Pendang parliamentary seat in Kedah, however he lost to PAS' Awang Hashim.

Wan Saiful is also the special adviser to Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik.
