Fahmi tells Wan Saiful to meet MACC over his claims

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan should lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over his claims that he was approach by two members of parliament to switch his support in favour of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the MACC is the best enforcement agency to carry out an investigation into the claims made by the Tasek Gelugor MP.

"The MACC is the best 'avenue' and it is necessary for him to meet the commission over his claims.

"Unfortunately, he thinks otherwise.

"Having that said, I still believe that it is necessary for him to meet the MACC and provide details what had happened," said Fahmi, who is the spokesperson for the unity government.

During the Dewan Rakyat sitting yesterday, Wan Saiful Wan Jan claimed that he had been lured by another two MPs to influence his behaviour including speeches to be delivered in Parliament.

He identified the MP as the two among the six Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) MPs who have declared their support for Anwar and the unity government.
