Muhyiddin recovering well, getting stronger after surgery - Wan Azizah

KLANG: Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is recovering well following an operation to remove a pancreatic tumour earlier this month, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said today.

“I visited Tan Sri Muhyiddin in Singapore. Alhamdullilah, I can see that he is getting stronger.

"As briefed (on his condition), it looks like he is recovering well. He sends his regards to all Malaysians and also those who prayed for his speedy recovery,” she told reporters during a visit at Sekolah Rendah Islam Al-Ainani in Taman Sri Andalas here today.

The Deputy Prime Minister was attending a free health check-up programme, held at the school hall. The programme was organised by Al-Islam Specialist Hospital and Malaysian Islamic Youth Movement (Abim) health bureau for residents in the area.

Her visit to the area today was also to show her support for PKR Sungai Kandis by-election candidate, Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni.

It was reported on July 12 that Muhyiddin had undergone a successful operation to remove a growth on the pancreas which was detected at an early stage.

The Ministry said he would be on leave to undergo follow-up treatment and expected to be back to work within a month’s time.
