KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) has appointed General (R) Tan Sri (Dr) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin as its new chairman effective Friday.
LTAT in a statement said the appointment was made by Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu.
Zahidi has had a distinguished career with the Malaysian Armed Forces, serving for 39 years and holding many key appointments at field and ministerial levels.
He was the Chief of Defence Forces from Jan 1 1999 until his retirement on April 30, 2005.
Following his retirement, he joined the corporate sector and is currently the chairman of Affin Bank Berhad.
He also holds directorships in several other companies.
Zahidi holds a Master of Science Degree (Defence and Strategic Studies) from the Quaid-I-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan, and attended the Senior Executive Programme at Harvard University, United States.
He also attended the Command and General Staff College Philippines, Joint Services Staff College Australia and National Defence College Pakistan.
