PENAMPANG: A teenager fell to his death from the multi-storey parking lot of the Megalong shopping complex here, today.
The 4.30pm incident, which occurred at the height of the weekend shopping period, caused a commotion in the area.
The victim is believed to have landed on a parked car before falling onto the sidewalk next to the mall.
Some shoppers and passers-by claimed to have witnessed the teen’s fall.
Facebook user Leona Charles posted this message on her page: “Just witnessed a boy fall from 4th floor of Megalong.”
Photos of the victim’s body and damaged car have been circulating on social media and WhatsApp.
When contacted, district police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Haris Ibrahim only confirmed the incident, stressing that police are at the scene and investigating the incident.
He said the victim’s identity has yet to be ascertained.
