KOTA KINABALU: A team of policemen has been stationed outside the courthouse here, where the High Court is set to rule over the state's Chief Ministership dispute claim today.
Police personnel were seen patrolling outside and inside the court to maintain public order as supporters of Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal and Tan Sri Musa Aman are expected to turn up prior to the High Court ruling scheduled at 2.30pm.
Police have also designated areas for supporters of both sides but as at 11.30am, the gathering areas for Parti Warisan Sabah and Barisan Nasional (BN) supporters remained empty.
Musa had, in June, filed a summons with affidavit support against Mohd Shafie and Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin with regard to the appointment of Sabah Chief Minister.
The summons, among others, aimed to seek declaration that Musa is the rightful Chief Minister according to law, besides claiming the swearing in of Mohd Shafie as Chief Minister by Yang di-Pertua Negeri was unconstitutional and illegal.
On Oct 25, lawyers representing the plaintif and both defendents presented a five-hour oral submission and argument over the case.
Musa, who returned to Kuala Lumpur after he was sworn-in as Sungai Sibuga assemblyman in September, is expected to arrive in the state capital this afternoon.
