Dr M takes his Proton X70 out for a spin post-ICERD rally

KUALA LUMPUR: He did not attend the rally to oppose the International Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) at Dataran Merdeka but Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is taking a drive in the city centre this evening.

In a Twitter post by blogger Firdaus Abdullah, Dr Mahathir was seen in a video driving a Proton X70 car in Kuala Lumpur "to see for himself the situation after the anti ICERD rally."

The video has been viewed more than 15,000 times since it was posted about an hour ago.

Firdaus also shared the video on his Facebook page where it has garnered 22,000 views.

The rally today ended before 6pm after it started to rain.

Thousands filled Dataran Merdeka and its surrounding areas to state their opposition against ICERD as well as to give thanks that the government had earlier announced it would not be signing the treaty.
