ALOR STAR: A fisherman was electrocuted Tuesday afternoon while working on his boat at a jetty near his home in Kubang Rotan.
In the 2.50pm incident, Romli Mohd Said, 61, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital.
His son, Mohd Faizal said his father was working on his boat when the incident occurred.
"He was supposed to go to sea but he decided to do some repairs on his boat. He was installing a socket on the boat when he was suddenly hit by electrical current.
"My brother managed to turn off the main power and immediately rushed him to the hospital." he said.
Kota Setar police chief Assistant Superindent Mohd Rozi Jidin said the case has been classified as sudden death.
