KUALA LUMPUR: A picture of PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and former Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein vacationing with their respective families in Morocco has left tongues wagging on social media.
The image, shared by Azmin’s eldest son Ameer on Twitter, showed the families together at a resort in Marrakesh.
The caption read: ‘Reunited after so long’.
Hishammuddin and Azmin were pictured with their hands clasped together.
Ameer also shared a video on his account, which showed the two families enjoying a meal. Azmin and Hishammuddin, both wearing sunglasses, were seen engaged in conversation.
The timing of the common vacation has left many wondering, given that Azmin is currently locked in a verbal battle with his one-time mentor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is PKR president.
Hishammuddin, who was Defence Minister during the previous Barisan Nasional administration, was earlier this month forced to issue a denial that he had a hand in the departure of a number of Sabah Umno leaders from the Malay-based party.
In October, Hishammuddin also denied a report that he and 30 Umno members had left the party, and reiterated his loyalty to Umno.
