Five police reports lodged over Najib's 'Bossku' programme in Langkawi

LANGKAWI: Five police reports have been lodged with regard to a programme called "Bossku" on the island, attended by former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The programme which is slated to last three days, kicked off yesterday.

Langkawi district police chief Supt Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the reports were lodged by members of Langkawi's Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) on a "Bossku" event at Pantai Cenang.

According to Mohd Iqbal, the reports called for the police to investigate if the programme had obtained a permit and if there were elements of sedition or racial sentiments.

"We have met with the organisers and advised them.

"They promised that the programme only involves breakfast at a restaurant, without any ceramah," he said when contacted today.

It is learned that the former PM arrived at the Langkawi International Airport at 6.30pm yesterday.

Among the programmes organised include a meeting with Langkawi taxi drivers as well as a motorcycle convoy with youths.

About an hour ago, Najib shared a photo of him having cendol outside the Al-Hana Mosque in Langkawi after Zuhur prayers today.
