Zuraida: Nothing new about Nurul Izzah quitting

KUALA LUMPUR: There is nothing new about Nurul Izzah Anwar’s spate of resignations from various positions, a senior PKR leader said.

Commenting on Nurul Izzah’s latest resignation from Public Accounts Committee (PAC), PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin offered a nonchalant view on the matter.

“Nurul Izzah’s resignations are nothing new. (Last year on Dec 18) she had resigned (as chairman of) Technical and Vocational Education Training Taskforce (TVET) and oh, I don’t know, whatever, as PKR vice-president,” Zuraida said when met at the parliament lobby.

Nurul Izzah had also resigned as Penang PKR chairman on Dec 18.

Zuraida said earlier, she had proposed for those who disagreed with the current PAC line-up to meet with the relevant minister for discussion to resolve the matter amicably.

Nurul Izzah said she had resigned from PAC following the committee’s chairmanship by a lawmaker from the ruling party, which went against Pakatan Harapan’s manifesto.

“However, before any meeting could take place, a public statement had been issued (about her resignation). So I cannot do anything,” Zuraida said.

On PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s tweet on “crybabies” which is currently construed as a jab against Nurul Izzah, Zuraida said:” I don’t know to whom he is referring to as crybabies, because I don’t see any names tagged there (in the posting).”
