Air Selangor mobilises water tankers to critical premises

SHAH ALAM: Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Air Selangor) has mobilised water tankers to hospitals, clinics and dialysis centres since early this morning.

Air Selangor customer relations and communications department head Abdul Raof Ahmad said the tankers were despatched immediately to all the critical premises after the water supply was cut due to the upgrading of the electrical supply system at the Sungai Selangor Phase 2 Water Treatment Plant (LRA SSP2).

“Currently, works are in progress and on schedule,” he told the New Straits Times.

“We expect to do more water deliveries on Friday as consumers run out of stored water,” he said.

“However, we are always ready to meet requests from the public,” he added.

Raof said Air Selangor has 99 tankers at its disposal, including 17 jumbo tankers.

“In addition to the tankers, we will open 10 local service centres at 8am this Friday to provide water supply to residents.

“Air Selangor has also placed 106 static tanks at critical premises as well as other strategic locations besides providing nine public water pipes and a dedicated water filling station to enable industrial customers to purchase water,” he said.

During the 86 hours scheduled for the upgrading work, a total of 4,143,465 users in Klang, Shah Alam, Petaling, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor face water supply disruption.
