Selangor govt allocates RM133m to ensure effective water management and resources next year

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government has allocated RM68 million for the state Irrigation and Drainage Department next year.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the amount was to ensure effective water management, drainage, and water resources in the state.

"Additionally, RM 65 million is allocated for flood mitigation projects, drainage system development, river basin development, water and hydrology development, eco-friendly drainage management and coastal development, comprising 103 programmes.

"The state government will collaborate closely with the federal government to coordinate and expedite flood mitigation projects in Selangor.

"This includes the Sungai Langat Phase 2 under the federal government," he said during the tabling of the state's 2024 Budget today.
