Azmin to give statement to police soon [NSTTV]

SEPANG: Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is expected to give a statement to the police either today or tomorrow on the viral sex clips.

"We are discussing it at the minister's office and he (Mohamed Azmin) he has also asked us to give priority to the police for him to give his statement," said Mohamed Azmin's political secretary Muhammad Hilman Idham.

He informed that the police had also officially informed them yesterday on having Mohamed Azmin's statement taken.

"As we have a rather packed schedule for today and tomorrow, we are still looking at the time. Insya-Allah we will allocate time, either today or tomorrow for him to have his statement recorded," Muhammad Hilman told reporters when met outside the Sepang district police headquarters (IPD), here, today.

Last Saturday, it was reported that Mohamed Azmin would be called in to have his statement recorded following the video clips in which two men could be seen engaged in sexual acts.

After the release of the first clip, Santubong PKR youth chief Muhammad Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz confessed he was the person in the clip, and alleged that the other individual was Mohamed Azmin.

Mohamed Azmin has since denied the accusation.

Meanwhile, when asked if the statement would be given in Bukit Aman, Muhammad Hilman said the venue was not confirmed yet and would depend on discussions.

On his presence at the Sepang police headquarters, Muhammad Hilman said it was to record his statement following a report lodged by Muhammad Haziq Abdullah that he had been threatened by the former.

However, his statement was not recorded today, Muhammad Hilman said, as police informed that his previous statement was sufficient.

"Since Haziq lodged a report at the Kelana Jaya police station and the incident (alleged threat) was said to have happened at a hotel under the jurisdiction of the Sepang IPD, that is why I was called in by the Sepang IPD.

"However, after the Sepang IPD discussed matters with Bukit Aman, and looking at my previous statement and cooperation given to the police, they felt it was sufficient. They will tell me if they need more statement from me," he added.
