Malindo Air flight slides off runway in Bandung

KUALA LUMPUR: A Malindo Air flight carrying 114 passengers slid off the runway at Husein Sastranegara International Airport in Bandung, Indonesia.

However, there were no deaths and injuries reported in the incident that also involved eight cabin crew members.

Malindo Air, in a statement, said the incident occurred when the flight was taking off to Kuala Lumpur this evening (3.25pm Malaysian time).

“A total of 114 passengers and eight cabin crew members were successfully rescued and they were unhurt.

“The OD301, Boeing 737-800 plane with registration number 9M-LCK slid before take-off at 3.25pm today (Malaysian time),” it said.

The airline company also apologised for any inconvenience caused and reiterated that the safety of the passengers is always its priority.

“Malindo Air also took this matter seriously and will investigate the incident further,” said the statement.
