Nga: Tajuddin wants to be hero but he's actually a zero

KUALA LUMPUR: Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Nga Kor Ming has trained his guns on Datuk Seri Tajuddin Rahman (BN-Pasir Salak) for the latter’s behaviour in the Lower House.

When met by reporters at the Parliament lobby, Nga expressed disappointment in Tajuddin, saying that his attitude was unbecoming of a member of parliament.

“His intention was clear... he was being rude and unbecoming (of an MP). He wants to be a hero but he is not. He is actually zero. I believe the people of Pasir Salak should reconsider him as their representative,” he said.

Earlier in the House, Tajuddin got into a heated argument with Nga as the former was unhappy his question was not answered by Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Salahuddin Ayub.

Instead, his question on the status of the Cash Crop Programme carried out by farmers as a measure to increase their income was answered by Salahuddin’s deputy, Sim Tze Tzin.

Nga said no rule saying a deputy could not answer on behalf of the minister, adding that Tajuddin was merely “looking for bones in an egg”.

“And there’re no bones in an egg. I gave Tajuddin chances to ask his questions but he continued to be rude.

“That’s why I suspended him from attending Dewan Rakyat for two days initially, but he then continued accusing me of being arrogant and stupid.

“Hence the four days’ suspension ruling. We can argue in the House but with manners, not rudely and like a gangster,” he said.

The first few calls made by Nga in asking Tajuddin to leave the House were ignored by the former minister. Eventually, Tajuddin left and was immediately swarmed by journalists asking for his comments.

In a quick response, Tajuddin claimed that Nga was being biased and only protected Pakatan Harapan lawmakers.

When asked why he made the “your face is like a communist” remark, Tajuddin said it was because he felt provoked by other DAP lawmakers.

“Is that a good behaviour shown by the DAP MPs? They jeered at me and they were yelling. Why didn’t Nga tell them off?

“He is always protecting his people every time he sits up there. He is pro PH and against the opposition.

“You don’t notice it but we (opposition) do. You must be neutral, otherwise you can’t be a speaker,” he said, adding that he could care less if he was suspended from the House for the rest of his life.

According to Nga, Tajuddin would not be allowed to attend the Dewan Rakyat session until Tuesday, but the Pasir Salak MP said he believed he was free to go in and out of the House as he pleases.
