Four motorcyclists hurt in seven-vehicle accident on LDP

SUBANG JAYA: Four motorcyclists, including three siblings, were injured in an accident involving seven vehicles at KM25 of Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) towards Kelana Jaya.

In the 4.45pm incident yesterday, a Perodua Myvi had hit the back of a Mazda CX3, causing the Mazda to hit the car in front, a Proton Persona.

Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Superintendent Azman Shari’at said the Myvi then skidded before four motorcyclists who could not brake on time crashed into it.

The motorcyclists had been taken to Serdang Hospital for treatment.

“The victims are Wan Hussin Wan Kamaruzzaman, 40, who broke his left wrist; his two brothers Wan Muhammad, 36, who suffered injuries on his chest and left knee, and Wan Azlan, 33, who suffered broken hip and right wrist.

“The fourth victim has been identified as 25-year-old Muhamad Faiz Mohamad, who fractured his left foot,” he said.

“Investigation found that the Myvi had been tailgating the Mazda CX3 and was unable to brake on time, resulting in the accident.

“We’re still trying to identify the Myvi driver who hasn’t lodged a police report,” Azman added.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Earlier, a 29-second video has gone viral on social media, showing four motorcyclists thrown from their motorcycles after crashing into a car.
