PM dismisses claims that PH will fall apart

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has dismissed claims that the pact would fall apart.

Instead, Dr Mahathir who is the Prime Minister said he had received support from the people as well as PH component members.

"You can see if I'm walking alone or not. I'm walking everywhere and everywhere I go people come shake hands to express their support.

"Even in the party, you can see that the cabinet has stayed together and been able to make decisions on even critical issues," he said after launching the World Tourism Conference today.

He was commenting on the remarks made Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Sunday.

The Umno president in his speech at the 73rd MIC annual general meeting said Pakatan faced internal power tussles, a lack of ideas to overcome economic woes, and disenchanted supporters.

The Bagan Datuk Member of Parliament said the pact was also bankrupt of ideas and continues to play the perception game to draw public sympathy.

PH which is made up of PKR, DAP, Parti Amanah Rakyat and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia has 129 of the 222 Dewan Rakyat seats, as well as 252 out of the 529 State Assembly seats nationwide.
