Singapore keen to invest more in Negri Sembilan

SEREMBAN: Singapore is keen to explore more investment opportunities in Negri Sembilan in the near future.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the implementation of the Malaysian Vision Valley (MVV) project was one of the pull factors that had sparked interest from the republic to expand its investment in the state.

“They are aware of the MVV and requesting for more promotions to be made in Singapore to help them understand the project better.

“We are happy to provide more insights on MVV and attract investors from Singapore.

"The state government plans to visit the republic early next year," he said, after receiving a courtesy call from Singapore's Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan here today.

Aminuddin said during the one hour meeting, both parties exchanged views and ideas, which include plans to boost the state's tourism products in Singapore.

"Although Negri Sembilan is among the main gateway to the capital city of Kuala Lumpur after Johor and Melaka, the state however is still lagging behind in terms of tourism promotion among Singaporeans.

"So the opportunity to visit Singapore will also be utilised to promote more tourism products from the state," he added.

Earlier, Dr Vivian was granted an audience by the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

He is expected to visit Pahang and Terengganu during his a four-day work trip in Malaysia.
