List of alleged 1MDB fund recipients not exhaustive, says Latheefa

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Latheefa Koya said the list of those compounded recently, to recover money from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), is not exhaustive.

"The full list of those who will be compounded is not exhaustive.

"The list which was revealed recently are of those who received more than RM500,000," she said in a statement.

Johor Baru parliamentarian Tan Sri Shahrir Samad today questioned why Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin who is now a Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) member, was not named in the list of 81 individuals and entities who will be fined under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities (AMLATFPUA) Act 2001.

Latheefa explained the MACC is giving priority to recover money from those who received a huge amount.

"It is all based on the amount of money, not any other factor," she added.

The commission will take necessary and proper steps to recover money from 1MBD in stages without being biased, as the money belongs to the people, she added.
