PUTRAJAYA: A foreigner was killed while 10 others were injured in a single-vehicle accident along the Cyberjaya-Putrajaya route early this morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operation director Hafisham Mohd Noor said its department in Cyberjaya had received a call regarding the incident at 6.25am firefighters reached the accident site a few minutes later.
He said the driver of a white van ferrying 10 foreigners was believed to have lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree before landing on its side near a drain.
The 10 foreigners inside the van were believed to be factory workers.
"The victims were trapped inside the wreckage and later extricated by the firefighters.
"One of the crash victims, however, was taken out by the public before help arrived and later declared dead by the medical staff," he said.
All of the crash victims, comprising three who sustained serious injuries and seven with minor injuries were taken to the Putrajaya hospital.
