Sultan urges Kelantan to cooperate with Federal Government on 5 key projects [NSTTV]

KOTA BARU: Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V today urged the state to give its full cooperation to the Federal Government to enable five key projects for the state to be carried out immediately.

He said the implementation of these projects as announced by the Economic Affairs Minister were important to the state’s growth and economy.

He said the projects were the East Coast Highway 3 (LPT3), Central Spine Road (CSR), extension and upgrading works of the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Baru-Kuala Krai highway and the Palekbang bridge.

“I hope the state government will assist the Federal Government in speeding up these projects,” the Sultan said at the investiture ceremony in conjunction with his 50th birthday celebration at Istana Balai Besar, here, today.

Sultan Muhammad also agreed with the Kelantan government’s decision to continue organising cleanliness programmes in the state.

“As a state government that applies Islamic values in its administration, cleanliness must be a priority.

“Praise be to God, the Kelantan Bersih programme which has been carried out by the state government was successful in bringing a change in people’s culture.

“The programme can be improved with the RM10 million allocation set aside for next year compared to RM6 million allocated this year.”

He said he was informed that next year had been gazetted by the Kelantan government as Visit Kelantan Year with “I Love Kelantan” or Kelantan Di Hati (Kelantan in our hearts) as the theme and three Fs (Family, Food and Festival) as its elements.

“For me, the theme and the elements are perfect with the state government’s target to attract 5.5 million tourists to the state next year,” he said.

A total of 623 people headed by Auditor-General Datuk Nik Azman Nik Abdul Makid were conferred awards and medals in conjunction with the Sultan’s birthday today.
