Penang man stabbed by workplace superior on Tuesday dies

BALIK PULAU: A general worker of a courier service company here, who was stabbed by his team leader on Tuesday afternoon, died today.

The matter was confirmed by deputy southwest district police chief Deputy Superintendent Jafri Md Zain, who said that the victim died at about 11.15am.

"A post-mortem will be carried out later.

"The case has been reclassified and is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

“We will apply to extend the remand of the suspect, who was detained after the incident, for further investigation," he added.

The 24-year-old victim was stabbed in the chest by his 27-year-old team leader at Taman Symphony here, on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim sustained injuries to his left armpit, right arm and chin.

An initial investigation found that dissatisfaction at the workplace may have been the cause of the incident.

Police managed to track down the suspect and detained him hours after the incident.
