The latest tally is significantly higher than the 345 people recorded last night.

The flood victims are taking shelter at nine temporary evacuation centres (PPS) across the district, Bernama reported, citing the Social Welfare Department’s (SWD) Disaster Info Portal.

The PPS are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sarang Tiong; Rompin Weightlifting hall; Bukit Lepas community hall; SK Pianggu; PPS Kampung Setajam; Kampung Sepayang community hall; Kampung Janglau community hall; Telok Gading hall in Tanjung Gemok; and Surau Kampung Perpat.

Meanwhile, three flooded roads in Rompin were closed at 11pm last night, said Pahang Civil Defence Force (APM) director Colonel (PA) Zainal Yusoff.

The roads are Jalan Kampung Denai, Jalan Kampung Sungai Mok and Jalan Lubuk Batu.

He added that Sungai Pukin is now just 0.13 metres above its alert level of 44 metres, with other rivers in the district also rising.

Flooding struck low-lying areas of Rompin on Saturday following continuous heavy rain since Friday.
