Kelantan govt yet to receive official report on Cityliner bus drivers' protest

KOTA BARU: The Kelantan government has yet to receive an official report involving a local bus company that failed to pay the salaries of 100 drivers.

However, deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said they would monitor the situation closely.

"We have received information of the protest by 100 drivers who claimed that the company failed to pay their salaries.

"The state government can only monitor and wait for further action by the company as we did not receive any official complain (on the case)," he told reporters after the state exco meeting here today.

Mohd Amar said the state government could not interfere in the issue as it was the company's internal problem.

Cityliner stage bus services in the state were crippled yesterday following a strike by more than 100 drivers who allegedly have not received their salaries for the past two months.

The strike affected the operations of between 60 and 70 buses.
