GEORGE TOWN: Visiting hours at hospitals in Penang have been shortened in light of the increase in Covid-19 cases.
State Health Department director Dr Asmayani Khalib said besides that, precautionary measures have also been put in place to reduce infection among patients, visitors and hospital staff.
“We will reduce the number of visitors in wards.
“Also, children below 12 will not be allowed in wards for visits.
“Visiting hours have been shortened from 1pm to 2pm and 5pm to 6.30pm every working day except public holidays,” she said in a memo cited.
Dr Asmayani said the ruling is in effect immediately, and any changes will be informed accordingly.
