Grab to continue services during restricted movement order period

KUALA LUMPUR: Ride-hailing transport services and online food delivery company Grab said its services will continue during the restricted movement order period.

This follows the nationwide restricted movement order announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to combat the growing numbers of Covid-19 infection nationwide.

“With regards to the announcement by our Prime Minister on Covid-19, rest assured that all our services: GrabFood, GrabMart, Transport & GrabExpress - will operate as usual.

“We remain committed to supporting our community as we go through this tough time together as a nation,” it said in a Twitter posting today.

It added that it will continue to keep updating consumers with any further info.

The restricted movement order by the government is imposed under the Prevention & Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, and Police Act 1967.

The order would see the prohibition of movement for assemblies including religious, sport, social and cultural activities.

In addition all houses of worship, business premises must be closed, except for supermarkets, public markets, sundry and convenience shops selling daily essentials.
