Reduced visiting hours, two-visitor limit at IJN during MCO

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Heart Institute (IJN) here will be operating as usual, despite the current status of Covid-19 and the Movement Control Order (MCO) which took effect at midnight.

However, it has reduced its visiting hours and put a limit on the number of visitors for each patient to help reduce contact among patients and visitors during the MCO period.

For the normal wards, morning visiting hours have been reduced from four hours to an hour; while its evening visiting hours have been reduced from three and-a-half-hours to two hours.

A statement from IJN today said that it would enforce a temporary change of visiting hours to 12.30pm to 1.30pm and 6pm to 8pm now. It was also limiting to only two (2) visitors per patient.

Children aged 12 and below are strictly not allowed to enter IJN until further notice, it said.

“Patients who have a scheduled appointment in the period of March 18 to 31 are only allowed to be accompanied by one family member.

“Further to that, patient is advised to bring along the appointment card or referral letter for reference,” the statement said.

IJN also said that it provides a complimentary home-delivery of medications to patients who wish to re-schedule appointment and who were unable to come on the scheduled date.

It added that patients who wish to request a home-delivery of medication to contact +603 – 2617 8844 to check eligibility of the complimentary service.
