Media Prima starts donation drive in fight against Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR: Media and entertainment company, Media Prima Berhad is calling for urgent contribution from members of the public in an effort to fight the Covid-19 infection in the country.

In this regards, it has launched a campaign to collect funds for the Covid-19 Humanitarian Aid through the Media Prima-NSTP Humanitarian Fund to assist the government to ease the burdens faced by those infected by Covid-19.

Every contribution - big or small - is very meaningful. All donations received will be distributed for the purpose of purchasing critical medical equipment and other requirements to assist in the recovery efforts of infected patients, it said.

Media Prima Group Chairman Datuk (Dr) Syed Hussian Aljunid said as the largest integrated media company in Malaysia, it is the company’s responsibility to help create awareness and forward the latest breaking news as well as delivering humanitarian assistance.

“We will utilise our media platforms to reach a broad social demography in appealing for this assistance.

"We will not stop until the virus is curbed. Let us be united in the fight against Covid-19.” he said in a statement here, today.

He added that Media Prima would work with the relevant parties to channel the contribution and had already contacted hospitals to determine their urgent and critical needs.

Members of the public can contribute to the fund by cheque, online banking or depositing directly to the Media Prima-NSTP Humanitarian Fund (MAYBANK: 5141-0532-3170).

Donors can e-mail the bank transaction slip and state Covid-19 to communications@mediaprima.com.my for their contribution receipt.

Those who wish to donate can also send cheques made payable to the Media Prima-NSTP Humanitarian Fund by writing 'Covid-19' on the reverse side of the cheque.

Address the cheque to the Communications Department Corporate Group, Media Prima Berhad, 3rd Floor, Anjung Liku, Balai Berita, 31, Jalan Riong, 59100, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

Since its launch in 1991, the fund has provided assistance to those in need of medical, disaster and economic assistance.
