PM praises creative Malaysians in filling time during MCO

KUALA LUMPUR: The Movement Control Order has brought out the creative side of Malaysians, said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

In thanking Malaysians for abiding by the order, he said most people were highly aware of the importance to stay home.

“You follow my instructions. You know that this is good for you, your family and the people around you. Your awareness and sincerity in abiding by the rules imposed by the government during this Movement Control Order (MCO) period is highly commendable.

“I know, it’s not easy to stay at home for a long period. There must be a lot of challenges that you face during this time.

“Our lifestyle has changed in an instant. However, I see a lot of creative people. I see on Facebook, many people have started exercising at home. Some used Skype to connect with colleagues.

“I use FaceTime to chat with my grandchildren. They are unable to visit Tok Ayah (as he referred to himself) as usual,” he said in a live telecast today.

He said mothers, on the other hand, have started trying out various recipes for their families, while fathers have used the time to pray with their wife and children.

“In short, we must be able to adapt to the situation. Whatever the challenges are, they will not dampen our spirit to carry on with our lives.

“Yes, as the saying goes, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. When things get tough, only the strong will be able to face it (challenging situation).”

He also pledged to all Malaysians that he would do his best in catering to every need during the Covid-19 outbreak.

“I realise that as the prime minister, I am responsible for your wellbeing. This is the trust placed upon me.

“As a human being, I am not perfect but I promise to do my best. God willing, with Allah’s permission, we shall face this big hurdle together,” he said.
