No Touch 'N Go reload at Penang Bridge

KUALA LUMPUR: To eliminate physical interaction with the customer service assistants, PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) has closed its reload service toll lane at the Penang Bridge throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO).

PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) in a statement today said this is to minimise the risk of spreading Covid-19 to its customers and customer service assistants.

Its chief operating officer Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi said those who need to travel using the Penang Bridge should ensure they have sufficient balance in their Touch‘n Go card.

He said any transactions with the customer service assistants for top-up is prohibited throughout the MCO.

For easier ways to reload the cards, Zakaria said highway customers could go to numerous top-up zones like the automated teller machines (ATM), convenience stores and petrol stations which are conveniently located around the Island and Mainland.

He added that self-service kiosks are also available at various points along the PLUS highway.

He said the move to halt the reload lane is also to ensure social distancing is observed.

“PLUS understands the hassle of topping-up at other locations other than the toll plaza.

“Above all, the best move to curb the spread of Covid-19 is to stay home, and to practise social distancing,” he said.

He also advised Penangites to continue to remain at home and only travel if there is a necessary need to do so to help flatten the curve of the Covid-19 infection.
