'No decision yet if CMCO will be lifted, extended'[NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has yet to decide if the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) would be lifted come June 9 or be extended.

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who is the Senior Minister (Security Cluster), said similarly, no decision had been made on roadblocks to prevent interstate travels.

Only after a decision on CMCO has been made, he said, that such decision could be made.

"Since we don't know yet if it (CMCO) ends on June 9, we can't make any decision on interstate travel ban," he said at a press conference here today following a special cabinet ministers' meeting.

He said police issued 356 compounds to individuals found flouting CMCO SOPs yesterday.

However, no compounds were issued for violations involving Hari Raya visits yesterday.

"The police detained 43 inidviduals yesterday, of this 38 were remanded while five others were given police bail," he said.
