Express Timuran passengers urged to come forward after Covid-19 case emerges

KOTA BARU: Six passengers on board the Express Timuran train from JB Sentral to Tumpat station on Nov 10 have been urged to immediately contact the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) in Tumpat.

The six are suspected to be close contacts of an individual who has tested positive for Covid-19.

State health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said the call was issued by the Tumpat district health office, recently.

"The order was made after a local tested positive for Covid-19 on Nov 19. The Health Office would like the six, who were on the train at 8.30pm on Nov 10, to contact the CPRC as soon as possible," he said, adding that the centre can be contacted via phone at 09-7255030 or 09-7255038.

The six passengers held the following train tickets: T201152111087, T201035922381, T201078130791, T201182443886, T201176241266 and T201193852880.

Meanwhile, eight new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Kelantan yesterday, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 279.

Five of the cases were in Tanah Merah, while Pasir Mas, Machang and Kota Baru reported one each.

A total of 77 patients are still warded at several hospitals state-wide, while two patients were discharged yesterday.

Kota Baru and Machang districts remain orange zones, while others retain their yellow and green zone statuses.
