Teachers to communicate with parents of Standard One pupils on their progress [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: To mitigate the effects of virtual learning, teachers of Standard One pupils will be in constant communication with the children's parents to brief them on their progress once the 2021 school term begins.

Senior Education Minister Dr Radzi Jidin said although physical classes have yet to take place, class teachers will be responsible for monitoing the pupils progress by communicating with the parents.

"We already have the list of pupils who will be entering school this year. As such, the teachers will be communicating with the parents to implement the learning process," he said at a press conference today.

On the issue of textbooks, Radzi said schools will brief the parents and students on the process of returning the previous year's school books and collecting new textbooks.

"We are aware that textbooks are crucial for home learning," he said.
