Umno president free from Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today confirmed that he has been tested negative for Covid-19.

The Umno president shared the news on his Facebook account earlier today.

"Alhamdulillah, this morning, I received the good news that my swab test result came out negative.

"At 7.44am, the doctor contacted my wife to tell me this news. After undergoing a check-up at Avisena Hospital in Shah Alam, I observed self-quarantine away from my wife, children and grandchildren by following the Standard Operating Procedures.

"I pray for everyone's health and well-being, and to break the Covid-19 infection chain," he said.

Zahid, who is the Bagan Datuk member of parliament, underwent swab test and self-quarantine yesterday as he had attended a meeting on Jan 18 with Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, who tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 20.

Tajuddin had also attended a press conference last week where Padang Rengas MP Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz was present.

Nazri was then confirmed positive for the infection on Jan 18.
