State government agency director arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting staff

KUALA LUMPUR: A director of a government agency in Selangor was detained on suspicion of sexually assaulting his staff in Klang earlier this week.

The 35-year-old was today called to the Klang South district headquarters for investigation over the alleged offence on his 29-year-old subordinate.

According to sources, in the 2am incident on Tuesday, the director was said to be visibly upset and had asked for his staff to make a drink for him.

The suspect then asked the victim to remove her scarf and to massage him, justifying to her that it is all part of her official duties.

The senior officer was alleged to have persuaded the victim to become his secretary or risk losing her position in the agency.

The director even asked her to swear on the Quran not to reveal anything which may transpire between them.

"He then asked her to enter the asset room at the office and asked her to strip down before asking her to 'satisfy him', he said.

When she refused, he slapped her and forced her to perform oral sex on him.

"Panicked by the incident, she shouted for help," said the source.

The man recorded the incident and threatened the victim not to report the matter to authorities or face disciplinary action.

Traumatised by the episode, she lodged a police report at the Pandamaran police station here.

Klang Selatan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsul Amar Ramli confirmed the report and the arrest.

"The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code," he said.
