31 PPVs gazetted in Kelantan

KOTA BARU: The Kelantan Health Department has gazetted 31 Vaccine Delivery Centres (PPV).

State Health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said the PPVs, which are under the first phase of the initiative, comprise hospitals, health clinics and a military clinic.

"The PPVs had been made ready since before the state received its first batch of vaccine doses. The first inoculations began on March 1," he said after receiving the vaccine doses at Darulnaim Complex here yesterday.

Dr Zaini said the programme would be carried out for three days ending March 4 involving more than 1,400 frontliners.

Apart from the PPVs, Kelantan has four locations used as Covid-19 vaccine storage centres in Pasir Mas, Kuala Krai, Gua Musang and here.

Kelantan received the first batch of more than 18,000 vaccine doses recently. The state will get more than 43,000 doses for all of its 21,000 frontliners.

Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob and his deputy Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah were among the first group who received their jabs yesterday.

The state-level Covid-19 National Immunisation Programmes (NIP) under Phase One is expected to end next month.
