PM in Madinah

MADINAH: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman arrived in Madinah at 5.50pm (Saudi time) for ziarah activities.

Upon arrival at the Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, he was greeted by deputy governor of Madinah, Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal and Malaysian ambassador to Saudi Arabia Datuk Abd Razak Abdul Wahab.

Muhyiddin who is accompanied by wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, arrived from Makkah after performing the umrah.

He is scheduled to be in Madinah for two days beginning today (March 7), to visit the Prophet's Mosque and Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) tomb.

The following day, he is scheduled to depart for Riyadh to begin the official programme at the Al-Yamamah Palace on March 9.

Muhyiddin's visit to Saudi Arabia (March 6-9), is at the invitation of King Salman Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

The official programme on March 9 will include a welcoming ceremony by having a virtual audience with King Salman, a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman who is also Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, a signing ceremony of Memoranda of Understanding, as well as an official luncheon.

The visit to Saudi Arabia is part of Muhyiddin's six-day official visit to the Middle East.

From Saudi Arabia, Muhyiddin will fly to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday to meet the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed Zayed Al Nahyan and UAE Prime Minister who is also the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum.
