BeliGas eyes expansion, more partners and helping the community

MALAYSIA'S first cooking gas delivery business. BeliGas has set its sights to expand across Peninsular Malaysia and is partnering with numerous gas companies in order to serve their customers better.

Its founder Suthan Mookaiah said that BeliGas owns 10 branches/gas warehouses to effectively cater to delivery demands around Klang Valley.

"Other areas within our radar include Rawang, Shah Alam, Seri Kembangan, Ampang and Semenyih. We are in the midst of expanding our services to consumers in Penang and Johor," he said.

BeliGas aims to own 100 branches Peninsular-wide by end 2021, and is also considering expanding the business to Sabah and Sarawak in the future.

Since June last year, BeliGas has steadily grown to become a household name for cooking gas delivery service with an easy digital app.

The app has helped homemakers to buy cooking gas without the hassle of running to the nearest shop.

Consumers can download the app and by following four easy steps, their gas delivery will be on its way to their address.

Consumers can also buy gas from its website beligas.my.

"We are improving the app with more functions to enable online payment, inspection service and gas stove repairs," Suthan said.

He further elaborated that the digital transformation has helped establish work opportunities for the affected B40 group, and former prisoners.

"Since the outbreak, many Malaysians, mainly from the B40 group have been severely affected with loss of jobs, which include my friends. Part of BeliGas' inspiration is to create business and work opportunities for those affected.

"The delivery segment has become vital. Apart from essential goods, we see the demand for cooking gas delivery in which we look to add more delivery partners in the future," he added.

BeliGas obtains cooking gas cylinders directly from suppliers and with delivery partners, gas can be delivered effectively from any point.

Suthan also believes that providing a stepping stone for reformed convicts could help them to blend into the community with business training and delivery service. In doing this, BeliGas has formed a collaboration with the Malaysian Prison Department, in particular the Kajang Prison, to train prisoners and provide employment once released from prison.

The BeliGas app can be downloaded via Apple's App Store and Google Play.
