Boy with leukaemia gets to ride in police MPV

KEPALA BATAS: The Seberang Prai Utara district police celebrated the 214th Police Day today by fulfilling the wish of a six-year-old stage-four leukemia patient to ride in a police mobile patrol vehicle (MPV).

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor said they were informed about Muhammad Firash Arryan Muhammad Yusri's wish after learning about the boy's interest in the profession.

"We decided to take this opportunity, in conjunction with the Police Day today, to fulfil his wish by taking him for a short ride nearby.

"You can see how happy Muhammad Firash was during the ride. We are happy that we are able to bring some joy to him," he said.

"He has always been interested in becoming a policeman. Yesterday, he was so happy when we told him that he could go for a ride in the MPV," said the boy's mother, Aida Royani Abdul Razak, 30.

"I want to thank the district police for fulfilling my boy's wish despite their tight schedule," said Aida Royani, who accompanied her son for the MPV ride along with her husband Muhammad Yusri Dani, 31.

Muhammad Firash was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2019.

Doctors told the family that the cancer cells had spread to his bones and brain and that no treatment was currently available.

Muhammad Firash's condition had previously improved, where he was able to attend kindergarten. However, the cancer later returned and his health subsequently deteriorated.
