Over 100 Covid-19 positive individuals untraceable due to false contact info

BINTULU: The Health Ministry is facing difficulties in identifying and isolating more than 100 people who tested positive for Covid-19 here due to false contact information.

Bintulu member of parliament Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said the Bintulu Hospital could not trace the individuals, who tested positive between April 12 and April 21.

Tiong reminded them to seek treatment at the Bintulu Hospital's Emergency Department within 24 hours or risk police arrest if they fail to do so.

"All those involved have 24 hours to come to the Bintulu Hospital Emergency Department to be treated and quarantined," he said in a statement, today.

He said such an irresponsible act would not only endanger their own lives but also posed a risk of spreading the infection to family members, friends and the entire community.

"This is very regrettable because it makes it difficult for the Bintulu Disaster Management Committee to work on controlling the spread of the virus in the community.

"At the same time, I request the help of the public, especially the family members of these individuals to advise them and report to the Bintulu Hospital Emergency Department to enable further action to be taken."
