22 new Covid-19 clusters, highest number in 24 hours

KUALA LUMPUR: Eight workplace clusters are among 22 new Covid-19 clusters detected in the past 24 hours, which also include seven community, six religious and one education cluster.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the number of active clusters in the country currently stood at 516, bringing the total recorded in the country to 1,942.

"Jalan Tanjung Kupang cluster in Johor Baru, Johor, recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases today among the clusters, with 953 people screened and 199 were found positive for Covid-19," he said in a statement today.

He said the new workplace clusters are Industri Bukit Raja cluster (with 21 Covid-19 cases reported), Jalan 223 PJ (16), Jalan Endap Sawit (29), Jalan Tuan Hitam (38), Paya Rumput Utama (11), Victoria Merdeka (16) and Jalan Kampung Bakau cluster (seven).

Meanwhile, the new community clusters are Stunggang (nine Covid-19 cases), Kampung Tanjong Jejulok (15), Kampung Limau (27) and Jalan Inang (10).

The new religious clusters are Jalan Kenanga Pertama (29), Jalan Pusara (13), Jalan Timah Empat (25), Taman Sri Rampai (seven), Kampung Keranji cluster (14), Kampung Batu Tiga (10).
