#NSTviral: Ex-Health D-G Dr Hisham shares holiday moments in England, gets 'daughter-in-law' requests from netizens

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Director General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Hisham Abdullah loves his post-retirement life, taking the time for a retreat overseas.

In a series of photos posted on his X account, Dr Noor Hisham can be seen enjoying his holiday with his family in England.

In one of the photos posted, he was seen casually taking a stroll in Bath's Henrietta Park and The Royal Crescent, Castle Park in Bristol City, and Castle Combe in Wiltshire.

"A morning walk sets us out on the right path of the day," he wrote. Accompanying the post were a series of photos of Dr Noor Hisham, and one of them was of him leaning against a century-old tree casually.

"It's obvious in post-retirement (that) I have more time for morning walks and appreciate the surroundings. Love to stop and smell the roses and admire the blue skies and white clouds. I felt calm and blessed for being able to walk and breathe in fresh air together with my family," he wrote.

In Bath, a place known for its natural hot springs and nature, Dr Noor Hisham "treated" his followers to a selfie while standing on Pulteney Bridge.

Accompanying the photo was a caption that read "A good, extraordinary break after retirement" before he proceeded to tell his followers a bit of the history of the place.

As Dr Noor Hisham generously shared snippets and snapshots from his holiday, netizens took the opportunity to leave comments on his X account, wishing him a happy post-retirement and to enjoy his time with his family.

However, there were a handful of comments that quickly left everyone amused. One of them was by @bumblefairy1, who joked that she wanted to be Dr Noor Hisham's next daughter-in-law.

Accompanying her post was a photo of the doctor's two very good-looking sons.

"Hey, Dr, you might not know me, but I'm a medical student as well and would like to be your next daughter-in-law," she wrote.

Others saw their opportunity and quickly took the chance to promote themselves as his "future daughter-in-law."

Dr Noor Hisham took it all in his stride and retweeted his "potential daughter-in-law" tweets.

Dr Noor Hisham has over 35 years of meaningful service with many involvements and achievements in the medical industry, both domestically and globally.

Malaysians will forever remember Dr Noor Hisham as one of the key leaders in managing the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

At the height of the pandemic, he was dubbed a "hero" by many for his excellent leadership throughout the crisis, providing updated information on the Covid-19 situation in the country.
