One-stop centre for authorisation letters under MITI established

KUALA LUMPUR: A one-stop centre coordinated by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) will be established to issue authorisation letters for essential services to operate and for workers to travel to work.

In a statement today, the National Security Council (NSC) said this decision was reached after the NSC special meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today.

The council reaffirms that all letters of authorisation issued by the government through MITI previously will expire on May 31.

Instead, a new application for the letters will need to be resubmitted through the Covid-19 Intelligent Management System (CIMS) 3.0 portal.

The letters will only be issued, once the centre receives approval from the respective ministries.

The portal will be coordinated by MITI together with the ministries that regulate the 17 essential services sectors allowed to operate during the period of total lockdown from June 1 till 14.
